ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Long before I earned my formal Architecture Degree, I developed an early fascination with the history, craftsmanship, and stories held within the many old homes in my home state of New York. From a young age I was always making things - taking on woodworking and restoration projects, first with my Dad and eventually on my own. I learned firsthand how materials come together and how a space can be transformed with just a few tweaks.
This early curiosity led me to an education and career in architecture, where I developed a deeper understanding of proportion, space planning, materiality, and the effect that built environments have on us. My professional experience in High-End residential continued to shape that perspective and reinforce the importance of intentional details and materiality in shaping the overall feeling of a space.
Today, through Claire Muriel Design Studio, I bring together those influences of architectural thinking, hands-on craftsmanship, and a love of history and interiors, to create thoughtful residential spaces that feel both beautiful and livable.
Whether I’m helping rethink a single room, refine the character of a home’s exterior, or developing a larger renovation concept, my goal is to make the design process feel clear and collaborative while creating something that feels distinctly personal.
